While in training, he works under the supervision of supervisors within Transforming Practices. These supervisors are accredited with ASCCANZ. www.transformingpractices.com.au
Michael has a Certificate in Supervision from the Centre of Supervision Training in the United Kingdom. www.supervisioncentre.com
Michael offers regular and confidential meetings, lasting one hour, between the supervisee and the supervisor.
The setting is safe and one which enables individuals and/or groups to 'sit at the feet of their work'.
Supervision provides a forum for reflection, accountability and learning from doing. Its aim is to further excellent work and quality practice. Supervisors support and challenge supervisees to move beyond their current competencies into future possibilities. Supervision is individualised (or personalised) learning in that it focuses on the work of the supervisee; the learning style of the supervisee and customises the relationship and environment to suit the development of the practitioner. Everyone wins. The ultimate benefit is for the client to receive the best possible service; the intermediary benefit is the growth and learning of supervisees, the immediate benefit is the ethical and professional monitoring of the work itself.
